Pre-cut sauna rooms
A pre-cut sauna room is more or less the complete interior of a sauna in a box. These kits are designed to finish off a room that is already framed and ready to be lined on the interior. The cedar for the interior walls and ceiling is precut and measured based on exact measurements supplied by you to the manufacturer. This ensures minimal waste and makes your job of installation a lot easier. Most pre-cut saunas come with all required accessories as well as your preferred type of sauna heater.
If installation of a precut sauna seems a bit outside your expertise level don't worry. There are numerous contractors that specialize in building and installing home spas and saunas. If you do go this route be sure to shop the price around and request references of past clients who have been using a sauna installed by them for some time.
Prefabricated Saunas
If remodeling an entire room sounds like a little to much work for you then a modular sauna room is the option for you. Prefabricated saunas are a standalone room that is placed in another room of your home. Like a Precut kit manufacturers precut the materials, but they also assemble the walls and door for a modular unit. When you receive your sauna kit the only labor required of you is to assemble the four walls and plug it in. A prefab unit might not add the value to your home it does give you all the same health and relaxation benefits as a built in sauna room.
One big advantage to prefabricated saunas is the can generally be taken apart to be located. If you ever move your sauna can come with you, or you can easily change it's location inside your home. The cost of a precut sauna versus a modular unit is usually cheaper how ever the increased labor requirement makes the prefab saunas more attractive to many home sauna buyers.
Precut or Prefabricated
The modular type of sauna seems to be more attractive to sauna buyers. It's easier to assemble, and doesn't require any major adjustment to the interior of you home. Of course if you're up for a bit renovation or are constructing a new home it's the best time to install a precut sauna. Each buyers requirements will be different, and you need to weigh the benefits and disadvantages of each type of sauna room for your application. Consider consulting with experts and sauna contractors in your area if you're unsure of your homes potential to add a sauna.
